I worked on Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden as a Sound Designer and Audio Integrator at Don’t Nod from mid production through to the release of the game.

My work focused on the design, implementation, and polish of various audio elements, including:

  • Ambient Sound Design

    • Created immersive and evolving soundscapes for several key regions, supporting the narrative tone and supernatural atmosphere of the game.

  • Cinematics & Narrative Events

    • Contributed to the sound design and implementation of in-game cutscenes and scripted sequences, in close collaboration with narrative and animation teams.

  • Foley & Movement

    • Developed and integrated character movement systems, including gear, armor, rifle, and material-dependent footsteps, ensuring coherence across combat, stealth, and exploration states.

Additional responsibilities included:

  • Full Wwise integration within Unreal Engine 4, using RTPCs, states, and switch containers to support interactive audio behavior.

  • Debugging and troubleshooting of complex audio logic in collaboration with gameplay and tools programmers.

  • Participation in sprint planning and agile workflows, supporting evolving design needs and last-minute changes.

This project allowed me to explore darker, more narrative-driven sound design, while refining my skills in technical integration and cross-department collaboration on a large-scale AA production.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a narrative action-RPG developed by Don’t Nod and published by Focus Entertainment, released in February 2024.

Set in a dark and emotional 17th-century world haunted by supernatural forces, the game blends story-driven choices, emotional character dynamics, and spectral combat mechanics.
It received positive reviews for its atmosphere, writing, and the dual-character gameplay system.
